Arequipa – Colca Canyon – Puno - Cusco

 

This recreational cycle tour starts in Arequipa, known as the White City, with its fantastic colonial architecture and surrounding countryside that is perfect for riding.

 

Get the chance to see the majestic flight of the Andean Condors over the Colca Canyon, also the second deepest canyon in the world, and then travel to Puno to experience the unique lifestyle of the indigenous people on the islands of Lake Titicaca. Finish your journey in Cusco, the old capital of the Inca Empire.

 

Enjoy the freedom of exploring lightly trafficked back-roads with the chance to get off the beaten track and experience local life firsthand.

 

The security of a dedicated support vehicle gives you the opportunity to take it all in at your own pace and to choose you level of challenge.

 

Cycling distance averages 40-50kms, with the option of extra riding on most days.

START: Arequipa, Peru

 

  • "The White City", surrounded by Volcanoes and built with the distinctive white volcanic stone of the area. Arequipa has a population of around 1.2 million people, the second largest city after the capital Lima. It is a one hour flight south of Lima

 

FINISH: Cusco, Peru

 

  • The old capital of the Inca Empire. This small city of 350, 000 people is home to many of the Inca temples and ruins, including the nearby world heritage site Machu Picchu. It is a 50 minute flight east of Lima, the capital.
